Panicsville is a two-man sonic crew comprised of Andy Ortmann & Jeremy Fisher. Over the past several years Panicsville has been aided and abetted by a revolving cast of noise manglers and has produced a numerous amount of striking cassettes, 7"s, LPs, CDs, an 8-track cassette, a 5" record, a square 8" record, etc. They immediately marked their conceptual territory with the release of their first Lp in 1996. Four Notes In Search of a Tune was a playable cut-and-paste record (Andy smashed cratefuls of records with a hammer, then mix and match puzzle-pieced them back together in a painstaking edition of 100 copies). Their visual aesthetic has been continually compelling, challenging and changing. They have toured the US numerous times and joined Metalux (Hanson records), on a 3 week European tourin the summer of 2002. Panicsville puts some grimy fingers on primal nerves with their organic and very much alive electronic sounds.
